More than 600 attended the annual Chamber of Commerce education mixer at the Meadowbrook apartment complex. the emphasis was on the arrival of new Chancellor Gene Budig and the new staff and faculty members at Kansas University. Ralph Tanner of Baker and Gerald Gipp of Haskell Indian Junior College also were on the speaking program, both of them new on the job the same as Budig.
