Kanwaka Family and Community Education unit will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Beverly Bourque. Margaret Fuston and Lyn Walther will give the lesson “Using Sense to Save Dollars – Energy Conservation.” Mary James will be co-hostess.

Stull Family and Community Education unit will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Deal Six Auditorium. The lesson will be “Rock Around the Crock.” Members are to bring food for donation.

Douglas County Family and Community Education in cooperation with K-State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences is offering a program “Rock Around the Crock” at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Deal Six Auditorium at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds 2110 Harper St.

The program on slow cookers will be presented by Sammie Locke and Patty Rundquist, FCE members. Samples of slow cooker recipes will be prepared and shared by participants.

The program is open to the public. A minimal fee will be charged.
