To the editor:

I am in complete agreement with the babies-pay policy, as advocated by Jim Marchiony, KU associate athletic director at Kansas University. Given the obscene salary and incentive payments that coach Mark Mangino is currently receiving (see Journal-World, Sept. 5), more innovative policies must be enacted to support the continued glorification of the KU sports industry.

I would support an embryo/fetus-pay policy as well. We are all too aware of how much space pregnant women require to move about and, obviously, they could conceivably block the view of our most treasured Jayhawk game. In fact, perhaps we should just charge all women double for the price of a football ticket, as many of them may be unaware of their current pregnancy status. Without such a stringent policy, the unfortunate loss of revenue opportunities for coach Mangino may be realized.
