Printers, 7 others join Chiefs practice squad

? It turns out the Kansas City Chiefs did not have to carry four quarterbacks after all.

Casey Printers, the former Canadian Football League star who proved a big disappointment in his first NFL preseason, was successfully moved through waivers and placed on the eight-man practice squad Monday.

Coach Herm Edwards had contemplated carrying four quarterbacks, including Printers, for fear that another team might claim him.

Also on the practice squad announced on Monday are cornerback Michael Bragg, center Johnathan Ingram, tight end Adam Johnson, linebacker William Kershaw, defensive end Clint Mitchell, wide receiver Donovan Morgan and defensive tackle Stephen Williams.

Morgan was in Houston’s camp this year and became acquainted with Edwards while with the New York Jets in 2004.
