From the Lawrence Daily World for Sept. 5, 1906: “The applications of Eudora capitalists who want to furnish Lawrence with natural gas will come up at the council meeting. The Eudora people say they will furnish gas at the same price as the current contractor but that the quality of their gas is better. : First District Democrats cannot find a candidate to run against Charles Curtis for Congress and the party continues to have problems in this state.”
