Kickoff for all games is 7 p.m.

Tonight's games

Atchison (8-0, 2-0 district) at Perry-Lecompton (6-2, 1-1)

Last week's results: Atchison beat Tonganoxie, 21-6; Perry-Lecompton beat Jefferson West, 42-7

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: Despite their current .750 winning percentage, the Kaws know they must spring an upset on their home turf to have any shot at advancing out of the power-packed district and into the Class 4A state playoffs.

Jefferson West (3-5, 0-2) at Tonganoxie (7-1, 1-1)

Last week's results: Jefferson West lost to Perry-Lecompton, 42-7; Tonganoxie lost to Atchison, 21-6

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: After suffering their first loss of the season last week against unbeaten Atchison, the Chieftains will look to rebound and secure a Class 4A state playoff berth.

Spring Hill (3-5, 0-2) at De Soto (4-4, 1-1)

Last week's results: Spring Hill lost to Baldwin, 28-22 in overtime; De Soto lost to Eudora, 26-15

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: The Wildcats will be keeping an eye on two scoreboards tonight, knowing a victory, coupled with a Baldwin loss, guarantees them the second playoff berth in a competitive Class 4A district. Failing to pull out last week's game in overtime cost Spring Hill the same scenario.

Santa Fe Trail (3-5, 0-2) at Topeka Hayden (8-0, 2-0)

Last week's results: Santa Fe Trail lost to Wamego, 27-8; Topeka Hayden beat Royal Valley, 35-0

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: After showing much promise with a 3-0 start in new coach Curtis Lilly's first year at the helm, the Chargers have dropped five straight contests. It doesn't figure to get any easier against Hayden, a traditional Class 4A power.

McLouth (3-5, 0-2) at Oskaloosa (3-5, 0-2)

Last week's results: McLouth lost to Silver Lake, 51-6; Oskaloosa lost to Jefferson North, 27-14

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: Two schools separated by just six miles get the chance to renew their rivalry after not meeting the last two seasons. Unfortunately, the only thing they have to play for is pride, as both are eliminated from contention for a Class 3A playoff berth.

Burlington (6-2, 2-0) at Wellsville (1-7, 1-1)

Last week's results: Burlington beat Central Heights, 20-14; Wellsville beat Pomona, 48-13

Last year's meeting: Wellsville won, 13-0

Quick hits: Despite earning their first win of the season just last week, the Eagles are still mathematically alive for a Class 3A state playoff berth. To make it happen, they'll have to surprise Burlington for the second straight year.

Friday's Games

Ottawa (0-8, 0-2) at Gardner-Edgerton (4-4, 0-2)

Last week's results: Ottawa lost to Blue Valley West, 38-6; Gardner-Edgerton lost to Blue Valley, 56-0

Last year's meeting: Ottawa won, 37-15

Quick hits: The Cyclones will try to avoid a winless campaign in a battle of two teams that saw their Class 5A state playoff hopes dashed by losses last week.

Mill Valley (5-3, 0-2) at Kansas City Harmon (1-6, 0-2)

Last week's results: Mill Valley lost to Overland Park Aquinas, 56-21; Harmon lost to Roeland Park Miege, 35-15

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick hits: The good news for the Jaguars is they'll likely finish the season with a victory and a four-win improvement from a year ago. The bad news is they already know they won't be heading to the Class 5A state playoffs.
