Another liquor store in Lawrence was hit by burglars early Monday.

At 1:27 a.m., police responded to an alarm at University Liquor, 3300 Bob Billings Parkway, and found a front window had been broken out, according to a Lawrence Police report.

The store's security camera showed two men had entered the store through the window and took several bottles of liquor valued at $170. Damage to the window and store was estimated at $800.

This is the latest in a string of recent liquor store burglaries - there have been six since Aug. 20. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call police at 832-7509 or the Crime Stopper hot line at 843-TIPS.

Felonies for $180 retail, duh, stupid. They may be college kids.

I second rednekbuddha's idea... sounds like a cheap and simple plan bound to work, then there would be no need for a lake front homeless shelter

I was wondering is there not a clause in the law related to honest fear?

a enterprising homeless guy could hook himself up with a sweet job.....the owners give him a tent and free booze(only during the day) .....instant gaurd dog.....he could work his way up the ladder.

Those who can do, those who can't talk about it. A policy writer at the KASB told me that.:)

What does a policy writer at the KASB have to do with liquor store break-ins? Are they something like ABC? Or do they help underwrite insurance policies for liquor stores?
