Liquor store break-in continues crime spree

Another liquor store in Lawrence was hit by burglars early Monday.

At 1:27 a.m., police responded to an alarm at University Liquor, 3300 Bob Billings Parkway, and found a front window had been broken out, according to a Lawrence Police report.

The store’s security camera showed two men had entered the store through the window and took several bottles of liquor valued at $170. Damage to the window and store was estimated at $800.

This is the latest in a string of recent liquor store burglaries – there have been six since Aug. 20. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call police at 832-7509 or the Crime Stopper hot line at 843-TIPS.
