Season a travesty

To the editor:

This Kansas University football season has become a travesty. Early on, we were led to believe that the Jayhawks had reloaded on defense and a new, great offense was going to return them to being competitive. The coaching staff would have been more prudent to present a less enthusiastic forecast for this season.

Of course, a new coaching contract was imminent, so some overstatement was probable. In my 50-plus years of following KU football, I can't recall a past team less prepared to maintain a lead, and then lose in the final moments against some very average football teams.

very funny, BunE.

Whenever my Oklahoma relatives start talking about our football team, I just say we are just biding our time until basketball season.

Dick needs to get a life outside of KU football. His name suits him well.

I think they are moving in a good direction Had Hereford caught that pass they would have won that game It is truly better than the blowouts but harder to take. KU football is something to do til KU HOOPS take over

A travesty is a parody. Is that what this writer meant? The season is a parody?

Imagine how frustrating it is to the players!

although I hate listening/watching a game to see a lead blown in the last few minutes (several times), it is better to watch than the blowouts of my college years.

you obviously can only recall the majority of teams who are blown out by halftime , yeah those were fun to watch. Progress can be ugly and dissappointing at times.
