Steven L. Elliott graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash.

The 33-day course provides professional training and evaluation for cadets in military life, administration and logistical support. The focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet's potential as a leader by exercising the cadet's intelligence, common sense, ingenuity and physical stamina.

Cadets in their junior and senior year of college must complete the leadership development course.

Elliott is a student at Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies, Overland Park.

He is the son of George T. and Joyce Elliott, Lawrence, and a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School.
