Reversing its stand on two key recommendations, the Kansas Board of Education decided against imposing admissions standards and requiring competency tests for teacher certification at Kansas Board of Regents schools. The board, upon advice of counsel, dropped the controversial proposals which school officials, including those at KU, had strongly opposed.
