The Vinland Family and Community Education unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vinland United Methodist Church.

Freida Martin will be hostess. Margie Schutz will give the lesson on fall decorating.

The Douglas County Family and Community Education Council will sponsor its annual Fall Festival at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.

Join us as we remember the Harvey Girls, women who helped to feed and comfort weary travelers.

To add to the atmosphere, come dressed in period wear, including hat, gloves, purse and jewelry. Extra hats will be provided for those who need them.

Please bring an individual place setting of your favorite china, including teacup and flatware, for your own use during the noon brunch.
