‘Bruised’ Baker to face MANU

? A three-game losing skid has put a damper on what loomed as a promising Baker University football season.

“Our psyche is a little bruised, as well other parts of our bodies,” Baker coach Mike Grossner said. “But we are still confident as a football team.”

Baker will attempt to turn it around today against MidAmerica Nazarene. Kickoff will be 1 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.

Since recording a thrilling overtime victory at William Jewell, the Wildcats (2-4) have been blanked by Evangel (24-0) and Missouri Valley (28-0) and fallen to Central Methodist, 17-14.

MidAmerica Nazarene (3-2, 3-2) is coming off a 35-6 romp of Avila. Last season, MANU outlasted Baker, 32-20, in overtime for its sixth consecutive victory over the Wildcats.
