Quick Hits: Both the Bulldogs and Wildcats will be looking to overcome mediocre starts and get a leg up in a tough Class 4A district that also includes unbeaten Eudora.

Eudora (6-0) at Spring Hill (3-3)

Last week's results: Eudora beat Anderson County, 40-14; Spring Hill lost to Louisburg, 35-0

Last year's meeting: Eudora won, 46-20

Quick Hits: Relying on star wide receiver Matthew Abel and running back Travis Clarke, Eudora has scored at least 34 points in every game this season.

Mill Valley (5-1) at Roeland Park Miege (1-5)

Last week's results: Mill Valley beat Lansing 14-0; Miege lost to Blue Valley North, 35-14

Quick Hits: Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Tim Grunhard coaches Miege.

Jefferson County North (4-2) at McLouth (3-3)

Last week's results: Jefferson County North beat Jackson Heights, 34-14; McLouth lost to Pleasant Ridge, 42-13

Last year's meeting: McLouth won, 40-7

Quick Hits: McLouth must improve its pass defense, which allowed three touchdown passes last week. Jefferson North has won its last four games.

Oskaloosa (3-3) at Silver Lake (6-0)

Last week's results: Oskaloosa beat Horton, 38-0; Silver Lake beat Riley County, 27-6

Last year's meeting: Silver Lake won, 74-6

Quick Hits: To keep a strong Silver Lake offense off the field, look for Oskaloosa to rely on the three-pronged running attack of Boone Heston, Donnie Brock and Mitch Lowe.

Blue Valley (6-0) at Ottawa (0-6)

Last week's results: Blue Valley beat Blue Valley Northwest 35-0; Ottawa lost to Paola, 56-14

Last year's meeting: Did not play

Quick Hits: Ottawa must shore up its defense, which has allowed 56.5 points per game.

Central Heights (4-2) at Wellsville (0-6)

Last week's results: Wellsville lost to Prairie View, 46-21; Central Heights beat Jayhawk-Linn, 37-0

Last year's meeting: Wellsville won, 32-6

Quick Hits: Wellsville went 7-4 in 2005, but this year's offense only has posted double digits on the scoreboard twice this year.

Royal Valley (4-2) at Santa Fe Trail (3-3)

Last week's results: Royal Valley lost to Holton, 33-13; Santa Fe Trail lost to Kansas City Ward, 42-6

Quick Hits: In his first year on the job, Santa Fe Trail coach Curtis Lilly has already won more game this season than the Chargers did last year (2-7).

Veritas Christian (3-3) at Wichita Word of Life (1-5)

Last week's results: Veritas Christian beat Springfield (Mo.) Christian, 52-12; Wichita Word of Life won via forfeit against St. Mary's Academy
