From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 9, 1906: “Outweighed 15 pounds to the man, the speedy little Redskins of Haskell Institute easily defeated the heavy Kansas City Medics football team yesterday afternoon at Haskell, by a score of 28-0. : Night school opens tonight at Lawrence Business College and some excellent courses are being offered for the record enrollment. : Schools and other public places continue to be closed due to the diphtheria problem. The situation remains unchanged, with no new cases. At last count, there were 72 cases, with most quarantined.”
