County to discuss development revisions

Douglas County Commission will consider amendments to subdivision and rural development regulations at today’s meeting.

County commissioners and the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission have been working on the amendments for months. The amendments also must be approved by the Lawrence City Commission.

In other business, county commissioners will:

l Hear a request for rezoning 40 acres on the east side of East 1800 Road between North 1000 and North 1100 roads. The request for rezoning from agricultural to A-1 suburban residential was submitted by Dallas Livengood for Charles Waits and Mark and Debbie Schroeder, property owners.

A final plat for dedication of easements and right of way for Livengood Estates Subdivision at the same location also is proposed.

¢ Consider a request from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to purchase video units for vehicles.

¢ Discuss a draft of the county’s revised personnel policy document.

Because of a scheduling conflict, commissioners moved the public portion of their meeting from its normal 8:30 a.m. time to 3 p.m. Commissioners also plan a closed-door executive session at 2:30 p.m. to discuss a litigation issue.
