Angel and Chris Johnson, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Lily Grace, born Aug. 30, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She has two sisters, Bridgette, 8, and Hunter, 5; and two brothers, Ethan, 3, and Owen, 23 months. Maternal grandparents are Elgin and Linda Saunders, Courtland. Kondja Kamatuka, Lawrence, received the Geraldine Pickerell Gordon Scholarship from the department of music at Pittsburg State University. Kamatuka is among more than 80 students who received a scholarship from the department for the 2006 fall semester.

Mallory Richardson, a 2003 Free State High School graduate and 2007 Kansas University graduate, has been accepted to the Kansas University School of Medicine, Class of 2011. She is the daughter of Earl and Teresa Richardson, Lawrence, and the granddaughter of Carl and Joan Tramel and Wilma Richardson, all of Lawrence, and the late Glen Richardson.
