The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department asks people to celebrate a “Month of Sharing” by providing a holiday gift for kids in the community.

Through Dec. 15, Parks and Recreation facilities are collection sites for new, unused toys that will be donated to The Shelter Inc. Toys will be distributed in late December.

Toys are being collected at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.; East Lawrence Center, 1245 E. 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Mass.; and the administrative office, 947 N.H.
