Another shocker for Wichita St.

Sixth-ranked LSU joins growing list of mid-major victims

? Karon Bradley was just waiting for the chance to make a big play.

With less than two minutes remaining in Saturday’s game against sixth-ranked LSU, Bradley delivered it with the go-ahead basket that propelled No. 24 Wichita State to a 57-53 victory over the Tigers in a non-conference game.

“I told myself the whole game that if I had an opportunity to make a shot, I’d take it,” Bradley said. “I did and it went in.”

Bradley, a senior who transferred from Marquette two years ago, gave the Shockers (4-0) their first lead of the game at 52-50 with 1:47 remaining in the game.

The Tigers (2-1) came up empty on their next two possessions when Garrett Temple and Tasmin Mitchell missed 3-point attempts. Bradley made two free throws with 23 seconds left to give Wichita State a 54-50 lead.

After Darnell Lazare made a basket to bring LSU within two, Bradley made another pair of free throws with 13 seconds left.

“You just have to hit your free throws down the stretch,” said Bradley, who has now made all 11 of his foul shots this season. “It’s just routine. It’s what you work on your whole life.”

Bradley, who finished with 11 points, was one of five players in double figures for Wichita State. Ryan Martin led the Shockers with 12 points, while P.J. Couisnard had 11. Kyle Wilson and Phillip Thomasson each had 10.

Glen Davis led LSU with 17 points. Lazare scored 11 points, but no other LSU player had more than seven.
