Dentist earns college fellowship

Dr. James Otten has been conferred fellowship in the American College of Dentists, recognizing leadership, excellence and meritorious achievement in dentistry and public service.

Fellowships are granted through a confidential, peer-reviewed process and limited to about 3.5 percent of U.S. dentists.

The college is the oldest national honorary organization for dentists, and its mission is to promote excellence, ethics, professionalism and leadership in dentistry.

Otten also is a provost and faculty member for the L.D. Pankey Institute, often considered dentistry’s educational equivalent of the Mayo Clinic. He lectures nationally and internationally to other dentists in the area of complex bite problems, treatment planning, functional cosmetic dentistry and implant dentistry.
