From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 18, 1906: “A local man who tried to steal a grip and coat of a traveling salesman has confessed and the guilty youth is likely to be sent to the reformatory. : Testimony continues in the case of the arson burning of a local livery stable. It seems certain the guilty party is on trial. : It seems the father and son duo of the Thorntons cannot be convicted in the Wolfson store burglary and are due to be released while the search continues for new suspects.”
