UMKC takes 97-58 victory over Baker

Quinton Day scored a game-high 24 points Wednesday in leading Missouri-Kansas City to an 97-58 nonconference win over Baker at Municipal Auditorium. The Kangaroos (2-0) had three other players in double figures in the game against the NAIA Division II Wildcats.

Baker (5-1) took an 8-7 lead on a three-pointer by junior Andy Hannon with 16:02 left in the first half, but Missouri-Kansas City scored the next 17 points and led 51-32 at halftime.

Lawrence High graduate D.J. Watkins scored two points for Baker.
