From the Lawrence Daily World for Nov. 16, 1906: "Rooters and boosters have raised money to send the university band to Lincoln for the Kansas-Nebraska football game and prospects for a KU victory seem good after some injured men have been returning. (Kansas won the game 8-6 to run its season record to 6-1-1.) : Word is that Cy Leland will be the next speaker of the Kansas House of Representatives. He has the firm backing of our own W.R. Stubbs, who previously held the post. : The Republican Central Committee has met to audit election bills and found there was ample money to cover all the expenses.
