Balanced WSU clips Chicago State

? Five Wichita State players scored in double figures Tuesday night as the Shockers beat Chicago State, 76-64, in nonconference play at Koch Arena.

Kyle Wilson led Wichita State with 17 points despite sitting out much of the first half with foul trouble. Karon Bradley had 13 points, and P.J. Couisnard, Sean Ogirri and Ryan Martin each added 12 points for the Shockers.

Wichita State (2-0) led 34-27 at halftime and built the lead to 15 points four minutes into the second half. But the Cougars went on a 22-9 run to pull to within two, 53-51, with just under 6 minutes left in the game.

The Shockers answered with a 9-0 run to put their lead back in double digits, and Chicago State (1-2) couldn’t get closer than five points the rest of the way.

David Holston led the Cougars with 19 points. Aaron Williams added 13.
