Douglas County Senior Services will offer three days of Medicare D enrollment assistance this week.

Help will be available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the senior services office, 745 Vt.

The counseling service is open to people who are Medicare eligible and have yet to enroll in the program, and to those who want to learn more about this year’s new prescription drug plans.

The enrollment period begins Wednesday and lasts until Dec. 31. However, federal officials are urging drug plan enrollees to apply by Dec. 8 to avoid delays.

Enrollees should bring a list of their prescription drugs and their Medicare card.
