Book studies relationships

A survey focusing on sex and relationships is the topic of “Men, Love & Sex: The Complete User’s Guide for Women,” by David Zinczenko with Ted Spiker.

The subhead of this title, penned by the editor-in-chief of Men’s Health magazine, is boastful and – perhaps – sexist. But we can excuse that offense considering that this book is less a statement of the authors’ beliefs than it is a survey of more than 5,000 men and women on their thoughts on the male mind. Relationship experts need not fear any competition, but within these breezy pages there are a few nuggets that women (and men) can mine.

¢ Although men wish their women would rank an 8 on a sexual-aggressiveness scale of 1 to 10, most admit that their woman ranks a 5.

¢ “Feelings” is the male F-word. Women should “bleep it out of your conversational repertoire.”

¢ Women should pine not for chatty men, but for those whose actions show they care.

¢ When a guy visually undresses another woman, it does not detract from his feelings for his lover. “There’s enough drool to go around.”

¢ Men – especially when it comes to weddings – want to make as few decisions as possible. Women should accept that and plan accordingly.
