The Pilot Club of Lawrence had its monthly meeting Oct. 9 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The yearly Share Pilot meeting was held, and Joan Van Nice and Inez Crawford were welcomed as guests of Carol Smith. Checks were presented to Carol Taylor from ECKAN and Nikki King from Health Care Access.

University Bridge Club announces results of its Oct. 28 meeting. Hosts were Tom and Cathy Waller.

Blue winners were Bebe Huxtable, first; Mary Kanous, second; Alice Akin, third; John Golden, fourth; and Ray Ikenberry, fifth. Pink winners were Edna Galle, first; Donna Riehm, second; Myrna Ikenberry, third; Rhetta Noever, fourth; and Lois Liebert, fifth.

Hosts of the Nov. 4 meeting were Jo and Walter Hicks with Bebe Huxtable and Ruth Harwood. Blue winners were Lois Liebert, first; Ray Ikenberry, second; Marc Kuepker, third; John Golden, fourth; and George Bocquin, fifth.

Pink winners were Cora Kuepker, first; Ruth Harwood, second; Cathy Waller, third; Myrna Ikenberry, fourth; and Dottie Miller, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at 10 tables directed by Chris Lane on Oct. 25. Frances Vogel and Florine Creek placed first overall at North-South, winning first in A, B and C. Second place in the three strata was won by Mark Olson and Gary Joyce. Wanda Durbin and Suzanne Wassmer won third in A, and Bobby and Elle Patton won third in B and C.

At East-West, Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro won first in A. Mary Joyce and Jayne Holliman won second in A and first in B and C, followed by Shari Krentzel and Nita Scales, who won third in A and second in B and C. Pat Musick and Ann Thompson won third in B and C.

The Wednesday Evening Bridge Club played three tables in a Howell movement directed by Don Brennaman on Oct. 25. Betty Spalsbury and Grant Sutton won first, followed by Mike Lee and Earle Core in second, and Judy Bevan and Shari Krentzel, who won third place.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club played a stratified Mitchell movement at nine and a half tables directed by Don Brennaman on Oct. 27.

Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough led the North-South pairs, winning first in A. Judy Bevan and Phyllis Brownlee won second in A and first in B and C. Barbara McCorkle and Lew Johnston won third in A and second in B and C, and Shari Krentzel and Deb Bettinger won third in B and C.

Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell won first overall at East-West, placing first in A, B and C. Davie Piro and Paul Heitzman won second in A, and Lois Clark and Yvonne Hedges won third in A and second in B. Lynn Hui and Cathy Blumentfeld won second in C and third in B.

The Monday Night Bridge Club for Oct. 30 launched the fall STaC week at which silver points are awarded. Thirteen tables played a stratified Mitchell movement directed by Chris Lane. Paul Heitzman and Dave Piro won at North-South, placing first in A. Harry Shaffer and James Zhang won second in A and first in B.

Peter Petillo and Donna Johnson won third in A. Lois Jones and Clyde Romer won second in B, followed by Kent McCullough and Larry Bodle, who won third in B. Betty Spalsbury and Albert Ballard won first in C, and Bobby Patton and Bob Hemenway won second in C.

James Masilamani and Mory Mort won first in A playing East-West. Emily Foster and Judy Bevan won second in A and first in B and C. Dorothy Netson and Jeff Nash won third in A and second in B. Barbara Merriam and Larry Brock won second in C and third in B, and Shari Krentzel and Grant Sutton won third in C.
