A Sunflower School teacher has been honored by a Lawrence business.

Nancy Scott, a kindergarten teacher, was recognized as Sunflower Bank’s Teacher of the Month in a surprise assembly this week.

Scott received a cash prize and a paperweight.

She was nominated by the grandmother of a student, according to the bank.

Jason Jones, principal, said Scott taught second grade for five years at the school and has been a kindergarten teacher for the last seven years.

Jones said Scott interacts with students very well.

“I just don’t think any parent could ask for anyone better than Nancy Scott,” Jones said.
