KU’s Woodland named to Hogan Watch List

Kansas University senior Gary Woodland was among 22 collegiate golfers named to the Ben Hogan Watch List.

The Ben Hogan Award is the most prestigious award in men’s golf, given annually to the top collegiate golfer from any classification.

Woodland captured the Kansas Invitational and amassed five top-10 finishes during the fall season. Woodland, who is currently ranked No. 15 in the country by GolfWeek, won the 2005 Kansas Amateur Championship and has competed in the Western Amateur and Palmer Cup. The Topeka native has recorded two victories and 15 top-10 finishes in his Jayhawk career.

The Hogan Committee will announce 10 semifinalists April 4 and name three finalists May 2. The winner will be announced May 22 at the Hogan Award Ceremony at Colonial Country Club.
