Program will monitor election complaints

A federal prosecutor will be available during Tuesday’s election to respond to reports of possible election fraud and voting rights violations in Kansas.

Assistant U.S. Atty. Leon Patton will be available as part of the Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day program, which is an effort to increase the department’s ability to deter election fraud and discrimination at the polls.

Patton can be reached at (913) 551-6730 while the polls are open.

Complaints also can be made to the Civil Rights Division’s Voting Section in Washington, D.C., at (800) 253-3931 or (202) 307-2767.
