Green to be in uniform, but he won’t play today

November 5, 2006

— Quarterback Trent Green will be in uniform for the Kansas City Chiefs today, but he won't be playing against the St. Louis Rams.

Green, who has been recovering from a severe concussion suffered in a season-opening loss to the Bengals, will be listed as the Chiefs' third quarterback behind starter Damon Huard and rookie Brodie Croyle. Backup halfback Dee Brown would be the emergency quarterback against the Rams.

Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said having Green in uniform today in St. Louis was just another step in the quarterback's progression toward reclaiming his starting job.
