It’s confirmed: Bush is coming to Kansas
Presidential visit to boost vulnerable Ryun
November 2, 2006
Advertisement
Washington, D.C The White House on Thursday confirmed reports that President Bush will visit Kansas this weekend to stump for Republican Rep. Jim Ryun, who's facing a tougher-than-expected race for re-election.
Bush will speak at a 6:20 p.m. rally for Ryun on Sunday at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka.
Ryun conceded for the first time this week that he's in a close race rematch with Democrat Nancy Boyda. He's seeking a sixth term in Congress after defeating Boyda by 15 percentage points in 2004.
Boyda has insisted for months that the race is much closer than national officials in either party think, but there has been no independent poll to confirm it.
In a surprise move last week, House Democrats spent more than $300,000 on television ads for Boyda. The race had not previously been on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's list of targeted races.

Just like Kerry mucking things up for Democrats with his idiotic comments, so will Bush with his even greater idiotic and far more dangerous comments. Thank god. Now Ryun's run is surely over. Bush's arrogance and hubris and Ryun's submissive rubber-stamping should be obvious to Kansas' first-graders, let alone card-carrying voters. Welcome ya soon Dubya, with the opposite result of your visit's intent.

Can anyone tell me in detail what the liberals wonderful plan is for Iraq? What are the liberals plans to KEEP our economy booming like it is? in detail please! It isn't cutting taxes like Bush did to ignite our economy.. As a matter of fact the libs said they will raise taxes and roll back the Bush tax cuts..
It amazes me how the drive by media has FAILED to report how WELL our economy is doing now. Clinton inherited an economy on it's way up from the previous administration, then by the time CLinton taxed the crap out of us middle incomers and the rich, we ended up with a huge surplus, and our economy started to go downhill. This was about one year before Bush took over.
The surplus the libs like to brag about means he over taxed us. hello? especially us middle-low incomers Once a low-incomer gets a raise or works triple time to be able to live decent, he will get 1/2 of it taken away!! the higher his income goes the MORE he gives to the libs to waste and give to people who don't want to work… I know first hand this is true as we saw how our money was being stolen in huge amounts by the libs. We could barely make it.
Then Bush comes along and cuts taxes, for the rich and the middle-low incomers!! He also gave us our money back from the surplus. We felt a huge sigh of relief after suffering from our small business going under due to taxes of all kinds.
Thanks libs for your LOVE for taxes and how you have put families like mine who were struggling down in the dirt. You claim you are for the 'little guy'.. That is a bunch of crap.. You aren't.. We are the little guy and you took our money. You took it from our kids we were trying to clothe and feed, and the one with autism we were trying to get therapy for. Because of your belief in “redistribution”, you caused us to sell our very modest home and move into a co-op with dirt cheap rent in order to try to survive..
SO YES, I know about the libs and their tax hikes “for the poor” yeh right.. In reality they are aimed at putting the middle incomers in the dirt.. People who are trying to keep a small business running can't because of state, federal, withholding, quarterly and sales taxes, and a few more to boot. It is a travesty and it is a wonder any small business make it under liberal administrations.
Vote these liars out! I hope the republicans come in and surprise the heck out of the libs and the libs lose seats.

Blame Clinton, blame Liberals, blame blame blame blame. Clintion's success wasn't really his, it was the previous administration. Give it up dude, Republicans need to take responsibility for the serious mistakes they've made. I don't think Democrats are a panacea for all our troubles, but it sure seems better than the current mess. Republicans are destroying our country, so why does President Bush hate America so much, and when did Republicans turn into the 'blame America first' crowd?

“As a matter of fact the libs said they will raise taxes and roll back the Bush tax cuts..”
When did they say this? Did you hear this on FOX News? Many have discussed rolling back the Bush tax cuts, but that doesn't mean they will be raising taxes. They might be planning to use those tax cuts to relieve some of the burden that has been dumped on the middle class…
“The surplus the libs like to brag about means he over taxed us. hello?”
'Nother little thing to think about is the $8 trillion we owe to other countries. When would you suggest we start paying that back? When we have a surplus, or when we have to rob Peter to pay Paul?
“huge surplus, and our economy started to go downhill. This was about one year before Bush took over.”
Evidence of this timeline, or is this another “fact” pulled from someone's pooper? I'm guessing, given your tentative use of the word “about” when describing when this all started, that it is the latter.
“Once a low-incomer gets a raise or works triple time to be able to live decent, he will get 1/2 of it taken away!!”
This is, of course, based on IRS statistics and not your fantasy, right?
“Then Bush comes along and cuts taxes, for the rich and the middle-low incomers!!”
Well, you got that right. Sort of. He DID reduce taxes for those in lower and middle income brackets. By about .05%. He reduced taxes for his rich buddies by upwards of 30%. Sounds fair to me. What did you do with your $300 check?
“Because of your belief in “redistribution”, you caused us to sell our very modest home and move into a co-op with dirt cheap rent in order to try to survive..”
Did this happen under the Clinton administration? Just curious.
Just be aware that, outside of what you claim to be personal experience here, you really didn't post anything factual. In fact, the burden on the middle and lower class have increased more under Bush than they have under any other president. I mean, really, think about it. I realize it is a lot to ask, but if the rich pay zero dollars in taxes (that's right, some in the highest income brackets pay nothing in taxes), who do you think pays for it? It isn't the tax fairy. Be honest with yourself. Bush's tax policy does nothing for the middle class.

U.S. productivity slows to a standstill
Wage pressures mounting, likely raising inflation concerns
Updated: 53 minutes ago
washington - Growth in productivity - the key ingredient for rising living standards - skidded to a standstill in the late summer while workers' wages and benefits shot up at the fastest clip in more than two decades.
The combination of slowing productivity and rising wages was seen as a formula for inflation troubles down the road. It could keep the Federal Reserve from cutting interest rates any time soon and possibly lead to another increase.
Productivity, the amount of output per hour of work, showed no growth at all from July through September. Growth was just 1.3 percent over the past 12 months, the weakest showing in nine years.

Bush's tax cuts did not “ingnite our economy.” What a load of bull. None other than the (then current) head of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, said of Bush's tax cut that it was “a political package, not an economic stimulus package.” No one has higher credentials on the subject than he has.
By the way, although our economy isn't as mired in recession as it was, I don't think it has “ignited” yet either. What measure are you using? Stock prices (which are overvalued and are not a reasonable economic indicator anyway)? Job growth is down, your wages don't go as far as they did 6 years ago. I'd say that a return to the fiscal conservancy of Clinton rather than the tax-cut and spend irresponsibility of this administration would be preferable. Bush is a poor economic leader.

seattle - a school bus driver fired after she reportedly made an obscene gesture at President Bush has filed a union grievance in an attempt to get her job back.
The 43-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was driving middle school children back to school after a zoo visit on June 16 when the president and Republican Rep. Dave Reichert drove slowly by in a motorcade.
From the bus, the children waved; with the windows down in their car, Bush and Reichert waved back.
That's when the driver gave the president the finger, according to Reichert and Issaquah superintendent Janet Barry.
“The congressman hadn't seen it, but the president turned to him and said, 'That one's not a fan,'” said Reichert spokeswoman Kimberly Cadena.
Reichert later called Barry to tell her about the incident, but the bus driver had already been fired. District officials learned about the incident after the driver boasted to colleagues about it, Cadena said.
District spokeswoman Sara Niegowski said the driver has filed a wrongful termination grievance through the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The union did not return calls seeking comment.
Niegowski said the firing was not politically motivated.
“The bus driver was not terminated for making an obscene gesture at the president. The bus driver was terminated for making an obscene gesture in view of the students,” Niegowski said. “That's not the role modeling we need for our students.”

Firing her was the correct thing to do, as there's no 1st Amenment defense for that kind of behavior while on the job…esp. that job.
That said, all dems should still be ashamed, and rightly so, because everyone know that no Republican ever gave Clinton the “bird”, and certainly never in the presence of children. Never.

The truth is that the left is full of a bunch of wacko's. Just look at how they responded to my post. You gotta love it! ;-)
They have no clue that when you give 'big business' a tax break they tend to hire more people who then pay taxes hence more money coming in. People who maybe weren't paying taxes before because they didn't have a job. Our unemployment is down as well. Bush has done a tremendous job with our economy and in keeping us safe for 5 years.
No attacks in 5 years.. Hmmmm… We should have been attacked again.. we were all expecting it and it didn't happen.. Gee, I wonder why? This administration is doing something right..
wait a minute.. i can't say that! Bush does nothing right according to the brainwashed liberal dweebs who believe what CNN and MSNBC say. Of course they are NEVER influenced by any news channel, why never!

Bearded gnome,
You will like this from Mark Levin: Evidently he did some research on Claire Mccaskill..
(The truth about libs and taxes!!)
Claire McCaskill's husband Joseph Shepard's business could be directly affected by decisions she would likely make if elected to the Senate, but that's not the most disturbing thing about his enterprise. Apparently (though they are already worth roughly 15-30Mil) her husband uses a phony offshore company in Bermuda for “income stripping” to avoid paying taxes.
The most important thing to take away here, as Mark points out:
“These are people who play the system to make as much money as they can but don't want you to make as much money as you can. These are people who use their positions to enhance themselves and then use their position to weaken your position. To make you poorer while they become richer.”

and, apparently beanscooter forgets the attacks on americans and american soil during clintonia that went *unanswered*: 1993 world trade center; two east african embassies; and an american navy ship bombed. all, clinton failures, and he had about a dozen chances to take out UBL, but didn't want to *take the chances*!
try it again beanscooter, I just hit your lame pitch outa the park!

“Ryun has more integrity in his pinky nail than you libs have ever had in your whole life.”
satchel,
Ryun has so much integrity that he publicly corrects his campaign staff when they say that he knows Mark Foley. His campaign staff must have been reading CNN or MSNBC and gotten some weird liberal idea in their head when they started to talk about Ryun and Foley's relationship. Oh wait, Foley and Ryun did not have a relationship, Ryun is not a 17 year old boy.

Actually HGA,
Have you read the latest Pitch Weekly issue. Big article in the Pitch about the Phelps family and about how one of the daughters is starting to takeover the protests now. Apparently Fred is not doing well and might be suffering from some health problems. I myself would like to see Fred front and center when Bushie comes so I am praying for his health to get better. I figure if all of us heathens start praying for him, he will be dancing around the hill telling George God is laughing at him. So lets start praying for Phred….

The Republican Party today has very little to do with conservatism.
A Boyda supporter came to my front door earlier. He was a very polite and articulate older man. I asked about the fate to the Bush tax cuts if Boyda takes office. He said that she plans to let them expire. My family and I greatly benefit from the increase in the dependent tax credit.
A vote for Boyda is a vote against the children.
