The final Lawrence United Fund report boosted the total past $100,000, making it easily the most successful drive of its kind in local history. The goal had been $96,700 and it was the first time in local UF history that the goal had been topped by Dec. 1. The UF plan had gone into effect here in 1956. Bill Lienhard and Jack Brand had been in charge of the drive.
