Injury accident

¢ A two-vehicle wreck sent one person to the hospital and took down a utility pole at the intersection of 12th and Kentucky Streets Saturday afternoon.

About 4:45 p.m., a blue Ford Mustang struck a red Chevrolet Impala after the Mustang tried to turn left from the right-hand lane. The Impala hit the Mustang’s driver’s side door, sending the Mustang into the utility pole on the corner.

Although the pole was not knocked down completely, it did jar power lines loose and into the intersection. One driver was sent to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. No other people were transported.
