The Meadowlark 4-H Club had a cookout and meeting May 9 at Pendleton’s farm.

Kyle Morgison presided during the meeting. Members answered roll call by telling what they plan to do during the summer. The club made flower arrangements for Meals on Wheels for Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.

The Douglas County Free Fair a hot topic during the meeting. Members were reminded that pre-entries are due June 30. Members will work in a concession stand from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 1 in the main building. The club voted to make a scarecrow for the fair.

The club’s Worlds of Fun trip will be June 19.

The club recognized its graduating seniors: Margaret Pendleton, Amy Magnuson, Kyle Morgison and Justin Fox. The program was a game show called “how well do you know the high school seniors.”

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. June 13 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Members will make tray favors before the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

¢ Mark Jehle, president, called to order the April 24 meeting of the Pioneer 4-H Club. Members answered roll call by telling where they would like to travel.

Quentin Capra gave a treasurer’s report and Kayla Blevins gave a reporter’s report. Members were reminded that the Bromelsick Memorial will be at 10 a.m. today at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

The club will make concession stand signs at its next meeting. Members voted to do the flag salute for radio station KFKF 94.1 FM. The club was reminded to donate nonperishable food items for the 4-H food drive.

Krisit Rudman gave a project talk on photography. Claire Blevins, Devan Carmichael, Lane Crumet and Tori Crumet gave a project talk on pigs. Kayla Blevins and Ethan Crumet gave a demonstration on how to make “Puppy Chow.”
