Rep. Paul Davis, D-Lawrence, filed this week to run for a third term in the Kansas House.

Davis, a lawyer, represents east and central Lawrence.

“I’m proud of the enhancements that we have been able to secure for public schools and the University of Kansas over the past few years,” Davis said in a statement that announced his re-election bid.

At the Statehouse, Davis currently serves as a member of the House Taxation and Judiciary committees.

“The Legislature needs to do more in the area of tax reform. We need to ensure that working families are not bearing a disproportionate share of the tax burden that should be falling on special interest,” he said.
