Wichita ? A toddler died after being struck by a sport utility vehicle in a driveway, police said.

The 2-year-old boy apparently walked behind the SUV on Friday, and the driver – the boy’s godmother – didn’t see him, Lt. Mike Hennessey said.

Hennessey said the driver was talking to the boy’s mother and then backed out of the driveway and struck the boy. The child died minutes after arriving at the hospital.

Police said the boy’s name had not been released Saturday.
