Mild, warming up to 80

Studying for finals? It might be tough to stay inside today.

Temperatures will be in the upper 70s, climbing to a high of 80 this afternoon, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“We’ll have blue skies today,” Schack said. “It looks like we’ll have sunshine through the afternoon.”

Winds will be from the west-northwest at 7 to 15 mph, she said.

At 7:25 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 51 degrees, the humidity was 83 percent and winds were out of the northwest at 7 mph

This morning’s low temperature was 47 degrees. The average low temperature for this date is 55 degrees. The record low was 35 degrees, set in 1895.

The average high temperature for this date is 77 degrees. The record high was 90 degrees, set in 1911.

Thursday’s morning low will be 50 degrees, climbing to a high of 83 on Thursday afternoon, with partly cloudy skies, Schack said.

Friday’s morning low will be 55 degrees, climbing to a high of 79 degrees, with a few clouds moving in, she said.
