Seabury soccer wins, awaits playoff destiny

May 12, 2006

— Seabury Academy's soccer team defeated Hyman Brand, 3-1, on Thursday at Sprint Center campus.

Ashley Tomassian, Regan Sisson and Melissa Burch scored goals, and Lindsey Ahlen had an assist for Seabury, which finished the regular season with a 5-4 record, the school's second straight winning season.

"We've got seven seniors graduating. They accomplished a lot the last two years," coach Gunar Harmon said. "I'm proud of that on the heels of winning that tournament in Kansas City last weekend (Harmon/Washington)."

Seabury will find out this weekend where it will play a regional state playoff game Monday. Seabury likely will be the No. 11 seed in its 12-team regional.

"We were trying to use this as a practice game going into state," Harmon said. "I played some out of position trying to get them some experience."
