Police say victim of fall was trying to climb
Lawrence Police on Thursday released limited information about a fall early Wednesday that sent a 21-year-old woman to the hospital by helicopter.
According to police, the woman was trying to climb up to the second-story balcony of an acquaintance’s apartment in the 1000 block of Missouri Street when she slipped and fell shortly before 2 a.m. But police and fire officials are not releasing the woman’s name, citing medical privacy concerns.
Police are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the fall.
The woman was flown to University of Kansas Hospital, but an update on her condition was not available Thursday.
