Suspect accused of stealing from LMH
Lawrence Police arrested a 26-year-old woman Wednesday on suspicion of entering the employee lounge of Lawrence Memorial Hospital’s maternity ward and stealing a purse and wallet belonging to two LMH employees.
The theft was reported about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, and later that day police recovered some of the stolen items from a parking lot at 101 Maine.
On Wednesday they arrested Michele Lee Hiatt, who lists her address as a nearby trailer court, on suspicion of aggravated burglary and theft. A second suspect was still at large as of Wednesday.
