Veritas 2nd in KCAA

Bartlow, Randtke place in top 10 for golf squad

Veritas Christian hosted the Kansas Christian Athletic Association State golf meet Tuesday at Eagle Bend Golf Course and took second place.

The Eagles finished with a team score of 397. Wichita Sunrise Academy ran away with the state championship, logging an impressive team score of 325.

Veritas’ Andrew Bartlow placed sixth individually with a score of 90, and teammate Mark Randtke took ninth with a 98. Both earned medals for their top-10 finishes.

Michael Penny shot 102, and Stephen May shot 107, rounding out the Eagles’ team score. Hogan Randall also participated for Vertias.

It was just the second year for Veritas’ golf team. The Eagles took third in their inagural season in 2005.

The varsity team finished its season Tuesday. Veritas’ JV squad will play Friday at Pomona.
