Jan Monsees, Kansas University sophomore from Leawood, was named Miss Lawrence-KU with Liz Harris, Lawrence freshman, and Nancy Miller, Topeka sophomore, as attendants. Miss Monsees was to represent the local community in the Miss Kansas Pageant the coming summer.

Reservations for participation in KU Centennial Commencement exercises continued to rise and all evidence was that record attendance would occur in early July for the many special events.
