Kansas City natives Linda Haskins, owner of the Lawrence-based production company Take Ten, Inc., and former public broadcaster Dave Pomeroy of Topeka are seeking personal stories and commentary, film footage and memorabilia related to the Kansas City Athletics.

The pair is creating "The Kansas City Athletics: Lucky 13," planned for release on public television in 2007, to document the lasting impact the team had on the city. The producers are currently taping stories of former players, associates and fans.

They'll be at book signings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Chappell's Restaurant and Sports Museum, 323 Armour Road, Kansas City, Mo. The events will feature Omaha resident John E. Peterson, author of a recently published book about the brief but colorful 13 years (1955-67) of the Kansas City Athletics baseball team.

The producers can be contacted at 842-6967 or kcathletics@kans.com.
