Youth chorus announces performance

The Kansas University Youth Chorus will present an informal concert Thursday that will feature several pieces representing various styles and cultures.

The concert will be at 5 p.m. in Murphy Hall, Room 328. It is free and open to the public.

The youth chorus is a nonauditioned group of singers from the Lawrence area who range from fourth grade through seventh grade. Debra Hedden, KU associate professor of music education, leads the group. In addition, both graduate and undergraduate music students assist with the chorus to gain experience in working with children’s voices.
