Connie Lindell, Lawrence, is the recipient of the 2006 National Business Education Assn. Secondary Teacher of the Year Award. Lindell is a business teacher and department chairwoman at Santa Fe Trail High School in Carbondale, where she has taught for 27 years.

Lindell works to create opportunities for her students in the work force. Each student under her supervision is trained in technology, career development, time management, work ethics and academic integration as well as participating in on-the-job training.

Lindell also is adviser for the high school’s Future Business Leaders of America. She has served in leadership capacities in state, regional and national associations.
