KU breaks ground on multicultural center
Kansas University broke ground on the $2.7 million Sabatini Multicultural Resource Center on Monday.
The 7,000-square-foot facility will be adjacent to the Kansas Union on Jayhawk Boulevard.
It is funded with $200,000 in university funds, $1.5 million in student fees and $1 million from the Sabatini family.
Chancellor Robert Hemenway said the work of many, including students, faculty, staff and the Sabatini family made the facility possible.
“It’s the result of a shared vision,” he said.
