4-H and FCE News

Ashley Lesser, junior president, called to order the April 10 meeting of the Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club.

Taylor Springer, junior secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite color. Kyle Johnston shared some 4-H history with the club.

The club decided to visit the Kansas History Museum in Topeka on May 7 for the annual club educational tour.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Stull United Methodist Church.

¢ The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met April 10 in Building 1 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Jessica Gibler presided during the meeting. Patrick Pottorff led members through a model motion exercise.

The club will operate a concession stand at the annual Auto Swap Meet this weekend. The club also will participate in the annual Relay for Life on June 9-10; the club fundraising goal is $1,500. The club also discussed a concession stand work schedule for the Douglas County Fair.

Club members presented reading and photography project talks. Hosts were the Mitchell and Pottorff families.

The next meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. Monday in Building 1 at the fairgrounds.

¢ Kanwaka and Stull Family and Community Education Units will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Deal Six Auditorium at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Martha Parker will discuss “Exploring Kansas History through Sarah, the Wife of an Abolitionist.” Stull FCE members are to bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

¢ India Family and Community Education Unit will meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the home of Faye Young.
