Scattered showers on tap today

“We will see a few showers and even a few rumbles of thunder as we go through the day,” Jones said.

At 7:20 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport was getting some rain, the temperature was 57 degrees, the humidity was 64 percent and winds were calm.

The average low temperature for this date is 52 degrees. The record low was 33 degrees, set in 1954.

The average high temperature for this date is 73 degrees. The record high was 90 degrees, set in 1952.

Jones said today’s high will climb to 65 degrees.

Overnight, Lawrence’s temperature will drop to 49 degrees by early Friday morning, with mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday’s high temperature will be 64 degrees, she said, with cloudy but dry conditions and maybe even some sunshine.

Saturday’s morning low will be 45 degrees, with Saturday’s high climbing to 66 degrees and partly cloudy skies, she said.
