Good example

To the editor:

Kudos to Brian Clyne, Bishop Seabury Academy athletic director, as well as to Chris Carter, head of school, and Gunar Harmon, coach. After an incident on the soccer field involving bad language on the part of a Bishop Seabury player, the school took the high road and dealt with the incident in a responsible manner. Apologies by school leaders were made to the opposing team, the offending player was suspended for a minimum of one game and she was required to apologize to the opposing school.

In a society that specializes in playing the blame game and passing the buck, I found Bishop Seabury’s reaction to the incident very refreshing. Oh, that every parent, school, politician, etc. would take note and follow suit. Thanks, Bishop Seabury, for setting a good example for all of us.
