Saint Mary next for KU

After a grueling, rain-delayed weekend series with Oklahoma, the Kansas University baseball squad will try to recover against a lesser-known opponent when the Jayhawks play host to the University of Saint Mary at 7 tonight at Hoglund Ballpark.

The midweek game against an NAIA foe probably wasn’t circled on fans’ calendars. But attendees at tonight’s tilt can get two tickets for the price of one, and the first 500 receive Jayhawk pom pons.

Plus, KU’s normal Friday starting pitcher, junior left-hander Sean Land, is the penciled hurler for tonight’s game. Land is 5-6 with a 5.78 earned-run average.

The Jayhawks are 32-18 overall and 10-11 in the Big 12 Conference. KU is tied for fifth place with Baylor in the league standings.
